Magna Carta Libertatum vs. The Declaration of Indepedence

Today I am exploring the similarities and differences between The Great Charter and the American Declaration of Indepedence. Enjoy!

A quick note before we begin: my little brother has started doing this thing whereby when he sees two bugs, creatures, people, whatever, he announces grandly “X versus Y” for example “Woollybear caterpillar versus red ant!” or even “Sister (insert names here) versus cousin” and then proceeds to tell you which one would win (sister, she would flip cousin onto floor). Because of this, all the small people in my family hear the word ‘versus’ or ‘vs’ and assume we mean fighting against, so I thought I would clarify: in this context versus is best translated as “as compared to or in contrast with” and not “against.” Alright, with that out of the way, onto the essay!

Vintage Rose Journal

It took me a while to get around to writing this post, and I have just discovered a problem. I only took one picture of the outside of the journal, one picture of the journal wrapped up, and zero pictures of the inside. “Well, can’t you take more?” Nope. I gave the journal away months ago. So there won’t be extensive pictures this time. Hope you enjoy anyway!

Speedrunning Marshmallows

My parents were out of the house for approximately 45 minutes, so, of course, I made marshmallows. It was only a few days until St. Nicholas day, and I was determined to present them with some dessert or another. Also just because there is a certain thrill which comes with trying to cook or bake something without others knowing.

December Bujo month page

As Christmas draws closer, I felt like doing a Christmas theme for my December monthly page. But hmm …how to incorporate Christmas? I considered pine trees, snowmen, etc. But nothing seemed to work. And then inspiration struck: what about ornaments? So I traced around the bottom of some supplement bottles and buttons, and started sketching.

the beginning of Astéri, light incarnate, goddess of the sun

Time fell in love with Chaos’s creation, Gi, and by and by she bore him twins —male and female. The girl shone bright as all the stars above in the Darkness, and was called Astéri. The boy was pale as the ghost of long forgotten gods, and was called Chlomós. The two grew together, inseparable from the womb. Closest to Gi, over her the two watched, jealously guarding the mother they loved so dearly.

portal to pirates ocean

My fingers danced over the controller, fiddling with the stick and pressing buttons ferociously. “Ugh!” I sat back and ran my hand through my hair, knocking my cat-eared headphones onto my shoulders. The screen in front of me bore the ominous screen of death:

Game over: GameZero died. Restart? Or …Pay five-thousand silver to continue.

Groaning I checked the amount of silver I had. 7,000.

“One more try, then I’ll play somethin’ else.” I clicked the ‘pay five thousand to continue’ and grabbed my headphones to slide them back on.

the coming of age of Taxídia, goddess of travels

Taxídia was with her mother among the mortals as she grew to adulthood. One day in a tavern she met a plain young man, whom she fell in love with. He was a sturdy traveler, skilled with the bow, and she accompanied him on many a journey. At the end of a particularly long journey, in the capital of Archaíos, he proposed to her.
