Soldier for the Truth

Here is my heart, hammering steady in my chest
A drum beating out in defiance to all the lies
Giving voice to the Truth, saying earth is blest
By this most Holy Infant’s purest, softest cries

March, march in time to this drum so strong
Show the crowds how the devil’s wicked and he’s wrong
How these paths are drenched in blackest blood so vile
Yet God so loved the world, He gave His only child

Here is my blood, staining my clothes in th’same way
The deepest of my sins stains my very soul
Yet all is forgiven and washed away by this child lying
In this manger small, the world yet unaware of his role

Sing, sing! Raise your voice so bold and strong
With all your love and strength in this most holy song
Of God’s mercy, man’s repentence, sing with voices loud
For God so loved the world, He gave His only child

Here are my hands, worn and rough with the labor
Of fighting in this army little, of working every day
For the King I serve, our most holy Lord and Savior,
Entreating all to join us, warding off the devil with all we say

Fight! Fight against the killing of the light! We are strong,
And shall fight against all this wicked and this wrong,
Shed our blood for the Lord, lest His holy name be defiled,
For our God so loved the world, He gave His only child

Here I am, naught but a little child, weak, fragile, and in pain
Yet I shall never loose the Truth or let my heart be swayed
From the path I must trod, no matter how it may thunder and rain
For the rain is ointment to my skin, the thunder music to my ears,
I fight for the Infant who in this manger layed
